Welcome to the first of many challenges to help you get a restart on your health. No matter where you are in your health journey, you can always benefit from more fruits and veggies. Right?
I wanted to make it easy to follow and flexible enough for you to enjoy some of your favorite raw food. We'll start with a 5-DAY Challenge (September 25th-29th) and then work our way up to a 30-DAY Challenge.
Throughout this challenge, please comment on the blog and even DM me @HealthyWholeAlive so that I can help you or answer any questions. Much of this plan will be personally crafted by you. I'm simply creating the structure with categories to help you win.
Here we go:
DAY 1 - DAY 5
Drink 32oz of Spring or Alkaline Water before eating anything. This will rejuvenate your body after detoxing and rebuilding all night.
Prior to breakfast drink about 8oz of warm water with a half a lemon squeezed in it. Try not to sweeten it. Lemon functions as a degreaser in your entire system. This will aid in detoxing your body, killing some of your sweet cravings, and prepare you to eat each day.
Eat a large bowl of your favorite fruit. Feel free to eat until you feel satisfied or sick of eating fruit. ;)
Blend a smoothie with your favorite frozen fruit. Here is a recipe that I call my go to:
- 6 Dates
- 3 frozen bananas
- 7 frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup of frozen pineapple
- 2 cups of water
Feel free to use this recipe or substitute your favorite fruit (accept watermelon). Watermelon should always be blended alone to prevent excessive fermentation. Although we are almost done with the watermelon season, you could always eat half of a watermelon.
Make a big bowl of organic apples, bananas, dates, cinnamon and nutmeg.
If you have a juicer, don't hesitate to break it out and juice up some of your favorites. Let me know if you need recipe suggestions.
Eat anything raw (organic) you want. Seriously, when you eat organic raw fruit and veggies, you don't have to skimp on the quantity. Eat as much as you need to. Again, you'll need calories, so EAT.
Make a big salad with your favorite veggies. Use a homemade dressing like - extra virgin olive oil, raw apple cider vinegar, himalayan sea salt, agave, cumin, paprika, and basil. Shake it up and enjoy.
Eat a couple avocados, seasoned with salt, cumin, and lemon. Smash them up and use celery as your dipping chips, carrots, or slices of zucchini.
Eat a plate full of fresh non-dairy coleslaw or one of my favorites, garlic kale. See recipe on my blog.
Make another smoothie.
Enjoy a big bowl of fruit.
Raw soaked organic walnuts (soak your nuts to remove any residues or enzyme inhibitors that are on them). Most nuts need soaking (accept brazil nuts).
Raw Brazil nuts
Bananas and other fruit
Eat a variation of what you ate for lunch.
If you like mushrooms, cut them up, add extra virgin olive oil, red pepper, red onion, carrots, salt, cumin, (cayenne), curry, coconut aminos, and basil. Stir and enjoy.
Try my sesame spinach as well (see blog post for that).
If you are interested in what I've mentioned, take a moment and canvas the suggestions and make a grocery list. If you have any questions, let me know.
If you feel sluggish, don't get discouraged, you may be detoxing and resetting your body.
If you don't feel full, don't hesitate to eat more.
In between meals, make sure you are drinking water. Try to drink at least half of your body weight each day. However, make sure you drink at least an hour after you eat to leave time for proper digestion. You don't want to wash down your natural enzymes. ;)
Understand that after the 2nd or 3rd day, your stomach is going to possibly start shrinking, which means that you won't have to eat as much.
I'm routing you on. Let me know how you're doing. I'll be doing it too, so stay in touch. I'll post often what I'm eating.
Don't forget to comment, subscribe and invite a friend to do the challenge with you.
