Skillet Green Beans and Red Onions

One of my favorite veggies is green beans. Not just ordinary green beans but flavorful, sautéed green beans. Literally, I can eat a whole pan of green beans for lunch or dinner. Green beans go with any meal. You name it, green beans can compliment any meal.

Here’s my recipe. I hope you enjoy it!


  • 1 finely sliced red onion

  • 3-4 cups of organic green beans (Costco)

  • 2 cloves of finely chopped garlic

  • 2 tbs of grape seed oil

  • 1 tbs of coconut aminos

  • sea salt and black pepper to taste


  1. Use a mid-sized sauté pan.

  2. Place the oil in the pan on medium heat.

  3. Once the pan is heated, add the sliced red onion.

  4. Add several shakes ;) of sea salt to the onions. This releases the flavor.

  5. Allow the onions to slightly brown.

  6. Add the green beans to the pan. Quickly toss the beans to the point were the onions are on top of the green beans.

  7. Add more sea salt and the black pepper.

  8. Add the coconut aminos. If you need more, feel free to add more.

  9. TASTE the green beans after a few minutes to test the flavor. I promise, they will eventually be amazing!

  10. Allow everything to cook to your liking. Some people enjoy crunchy green beans while others like them more soft.

  11. Test the salt and pepper.

  12. Get a plate and enjoy them!
