Since I began this health journey over 26 years ago, I’ve known that drinking fresh water is one of the best gifts for the body. Water is like oil in the engine of the car; if there’s no oil, the engine locks up. If we get distracted and forget to drink water, our body and all of its waste become stagnant and we essentially get locked up. We ail in mysterious ways without sufficient water. So, drink water!
How much water? In my research, I’ve found many theories, however, the one that I believe holds true, is drinking at least half of our body weight in ounces. Since the body consists of 70% water, replenishing it with fresh, clean water will keep it hydrated.
With all of the options available to us to drink, the Hydration Challenge is my way of serving you by reminding you that you need to drink water. Keep it real. It’s pretty appealing to the tastebuds to drink a soda, milk-shake, artificially sweetened fruit juice, flavored water, Gatorade or even an alcoholic beverage instead of water. But these drinks do not replenish the body nor do they flush out anything toxic that needs to leave our bodies. My hope is that this experience will reset your rhythms and habits.
I know you need the challenge but I also know that I need it too. Let’s face it, there’s something special about doing a challenge with other people too! ;).
Collectively, we can reap the benefits of drinking water. Personally, I’ve seen my body change over the years. Frankly, I don’t feel like I’m aging. I’m consistently hydrated. My skin is smooth. I can’t remember the last time that I had a pimple. My achy joints and old basketball injuries from the past have subsided and disappeared.
I want you to be healthy too. I want to inspire you to experience some of the same things that I’ve experienced. Thanks for joining me on this journey. If there are more challenges that you’d be interested in doing with me, please share them in the content section. If you’d like to share your experience so far, please share as well. Have a great week and let me know how I can serve you.
